What is the Makerspace?
The Makerspace is a collaborative project being developed in the Sooke community. The Makerspace provides shared work space, tools, equipment and materials, and hopefully a little inspiration! Users (Makers) bring their interests, ideas, creativity, effort and motivation to the making of things.
The spaces contain a wide variety of tools, equipment, and materials providing education, training and mentoring for the purposes of enabling community members to design, create, invent, tinker, explore, discover and make works that would not be possible with the resources generally available to individuals working alone. It is part workshop, part tech lab, part arts & craft room, and hub for creativity, connection and collaboration.
